Factor Disc Project Part 3.

Moving on to part 3 of the factor build.  Parts 1 and 2 can be found here and here

Let’s take a look at the wheels.

We started with a set of FSE tubular disc rims in 25mm.  These specific rims are currently a pre-production version and came in at 221.1 grams and 220.9 grams.   We used some Pillar Xtra Titanium spokes (150.4 grams) and some 13g alloy nipples (17.7 grams) to join the rims to a pair of Extralite SPD road disc hubs,  145.4 grams rear and 64.9 grams front.

To those wheels we mounted Ashima Ai2 160mm rotors, 72.2 and 72.1 grams, using some custom rainbow finished titanium bolts at 15.0 grams.   Then we mounted up a set of Vittoria Corsa Speed Graphene tires in 23mm, 190.8 grams and 186.4 grams using some Miyata Tubular tape.  We then mounted a Recon nickle black alloy 11 speed cassette in an 11-25 version which was 108.3 grams.  We used the stock Factor thru axles (57.5 grams) to install the wheels.

Then we added the small parts, YBN Titanium Chain 215.6 grams, Lizard Skin 1.8mm bar tape, FWB Carbon bar end plugs and a pair of carbon cages mounted with Kcnc alloy bolts.

Next post should be the completed build.
