K. Bedford Customs by Kelly Bedford

After a two decade hiatus, Kelly Bedford is back to building frames that under his own name. Kelly learned his craft from the Proteus Frame Design Handbook. Before long his work gained attention and with it, a reputation for quality.

In 1987 Bedford took a job with Serotta Bicycles as a full time frame builder. In the more than 20 years he spent with Serotta, Kelly Bedford built thousands of frames in Steel, Titanium and Carbon Fiber. This wealth of experience is one of the reasons we Fair Wheel Bikes was excited to collaborate on a recent project with a Kelly.

An old-meets-new build combining lugged steel with modern details like an integrated seatmast, internally routed sequential Di2 and a PF30 bottom bracket, this build is the perfect example of the kind of project we love to work on.

Kelly can produce USA made steel frames in your choice of Lugged, Tig Welded or Brazed tubing made by Reynolds, True Temper and Columbus. He also offers welded titanium frames all with completely made to order geometries.

The hallmark of Kelly’s work under the K. Bedford marque is found in his extremely intricate finishing work. Finely carved lugs and attention to details like cable routing, and clean seat clusters make these frames really stand out.
