ENVE x Open UP Special Edition

With so much pallete work already done by ENVE and OPEN, the goal with this build was to continue the clean aesthetics and tranform it into a very functional, fast, and (most importantly, fun) gravel bike.

With some slight modification to the stock ENVE Compact handlebars, we were able to mount Shimano’s EW-RS910 A-Junction box the the handlebar and almost completely hide the wiring at the front end of the bike. The wire connection to the B-junction is attached to the rear brake hose with electrical heat-shrink tubing from the handlebar to OPEN’s clever universal headtube entry point.

The Ultegra R8070 1×11 drivetrain is equipped with Praxis’ newest Zayante Carbon crankset and a 42-tooth direct mount ring, with an XT M8050 rear derailleur and 11-40 cassette to provide a respectable gear range to tackle the rugged gravel roads of Southern Arizona.

ENVE’s G23 gravel-specific wheels are with custom orange rim and hub decals to match the U.P.’s attractive colorway. These Enve wheels are no mere ornaments, however, with ultra-reliable DT Swiss 240s hubs laced to ENVE’s incredibly lightweight and purpose-driven G23 carbon rims.
